Just had a meeting to figure out our next moves. 1st step is to finish restoring the bowl. I have been told to steer clear of bondo to fill the craters throughout the park, what would the more knowledgable people out there suggest?

Detroit Skateboarding with Derrick Dykas and Ryan Sheckler Ryan Sheckler cruised around Detroit with Derrick to see his DIY projects and donated new tools.

I apologize for the lateness of this post but head down to Classic Skateshop on Virginia Street next to Aces and donate to help restore Idlewild. It has begun! You know there is some serious dedication when you see everyone working hard in 90+ degree heat. I want to try to get people together this Sunday to do this on a larger scale. If you have extra tools, bring them as they will be needed!

We now have 500 likes!! Before I go to the city and make my proposals, I would like to have people lined up to do the construction to help sell our case. We will need people that are experienced in creating and executing blue prints, laying concrete, plumbing, metal working, and someone with a blow torch to melt the paint in the bowl. I personally am not experienced in any of those areas, I am not sure if people will need any licensing or certificates of any kind. If you know anyone that may be interested in helping with any of these things tag their name and lets get it going. I am also happy to make some people administrators if they can be helpful in making this little dream a reality. Keep up the good work and thanks for all of the shares!!!!

This is a brand new page dedicated to making Idlewild a better place for all of us to hang out. It is imperative that we get as many likes as possible so that we can get a proper kickstarter going to raise funds for what WE want to achieve. Leave a comment saying what you would like to see done to the skatepark to make it better. My reason to start this page is to get the big bowl restored to its original condition, get more trash and recycle cans, and free the park from glass. If all goes as planned then at the beginning of summer we will have a huge party and BBQ at the park at the beginning of summer. SHARE WITH ANYONE THAT YOU THINK CAN HELP OUR CAUSE! Doesn't matter if they skate or not, this is a community project. The city of Reno hasn't done anything for the skateboard community in a decade and I think its time we change that. If we invest in our skatepark, maybe they can help us by building within the confines of the fence to make our skatepark the best that it can be!!! INVITE, INVITE, INVITE!!!
