The Rooted Vale Farm & Homestead A late-1700s New England farmhouse in Richmond, NH—being restored back to its original roots.

Right now it’s chickens and rebuilding, but we’re growing steadily, honoring the land, the history, and the slow return of a working homestead together here.

Some things don’t need to be built from scratch—they need to be uncovered first.

What was once hidden behind brush, vines, and neglect is starting to breathe again. Old stone walls seeing sunlight, trees freed to bloom, and land beginning to show its beauty once more. This is how all meaningful projects begin… with vision, effort, and clearing what no longer belongs.

The Fern & Flower is on its way. Right now it’s a patch of land and a stack of pallets… but soon it will become shelter, purpose, and something built with heart and hands.

Stay tuned and watch the transformation unfold.

“Before something beautiful is built, something forgotten often has to be reclaimed.”

Spring is finally here, and it’s time to start bringing some big homestead plans to life 🌱

I’ve been collecting a bunch of old windows, and the goal is to turn them into a greenhouse—something that not only extends the growing season but becomes a core part of what we’re building here. There’s just something right about repurposing materials and giving them a second life on the land.

At the same time, we’re gathering supplies to build out a goat barn, because goats are coming soon 🐐 This place is slowly but surely growing into everything we’ve been envisioning.

This video is a little behind-the-scenes look at where we’re at right now—early stages, big ideas, and a lot of work ahead.

If you’ve built a greenhouse from old windows or set up a goat barn before, I’d love to hear any tips or things you wish you knew beforehand 👇

Barn music playing and these four are already acting like seasoned farm hands.

Two baby hens, two little roosters, scratching, hopping, and chasing each other like it’s the most important job in the world. Tiny bodies, oversized confidence.

They’re small now… but give it time.

Alright, let’s settle this — are you team hens or team roosters?

Upgraded the chicks pen so they have more room. Once it gets warmer they will be ready to join our flock!! I think we may have two roosters the all white and one of the black ones. We shall see.
