Less but better.
It's a philosophy I've been fitting into my life lately.
Do less work, but do each thing better.
A lot of us are so used to being busy that doing less feels wrong.
Being in constant movement almost feels good. It turns off that part of your brain that asks if you’re doing enough. If I’m always working… I must be getting a lot done, right?
The thing is… it’s easy to confuse busyness with progress.
They’re not the same thing. They just feel similar.
A couple examples from my life:
(1) The gym:
--I used to go to the gym daily. I'd hit 45 minutes of cardio, then lift too.
-- My new routine: 2 lifts per week, 2 cardio sessions per week. But each time I’m fresh and focused.
-- My gym time went from 10 hours per week to 4.
-- The funny thing… dropping my time 60% broke my plateaus. Strength… up. VO2 max… up.
(2) Sales
--I used to run 4-5 sales appointments per day.
--Now I make people watch a YouTube video explaining our pricing, who we're for, and who we're not for before we meet. A lot of people watch the video and cancel the appointment. Scary!
--The result: half the appointments… but more sales.
I took my workweek from 50-60 hours down to around 25.
I went through work withdrawals lol. It was uncomfortable to have all this free time at first.
Strange feeling to do half the work for more output.
But that's the point.
Less but better 🤙
