I now understand why plumbers don't patch up after they hack at your drywall. It can quickly get complicated.
Take this example.
First is cutting the hole a little larger to make it square and expose studs. Next is a lot of measurements to cut the replacement piece.
There are 4 parts sticking out of the wall, so the new drywall must go in as 2 pieces. Slots are cut [measure twice] for the pipe and material has to be carefully cut away from the back side to make space for the brackets and screws that would cause the drywall to stick way out.
Usually I enjoy the challenge, but not so much when it forces me to purchase a new tool.
