Penn Yan Lake House Garage Transformation 🔥
This one was a fun before-and-after.
We recently completed this small garage at a great customer’s lake house in Penn Yan, NY. The concrete had to be pushing 50 years old, and it showed — deteriorated joints, gaps along the perimeter, cracks, and plenty of areas that needed attention before we could even think about coating it.
The customer wasn’t able to get everything cleared out before we arrived, so our crew helped empty the garage and got right to work.
What went into this floor:
* Extensive concrete and joint repair
* Backer rod and foam installed to properly fill larger perimeter gaps between the slab and walls
* Mechanical surface preparation
* Simiron 1150 Fast Cure base coat
* Wombat decorative flake broadcast to full rejection
* Two polyaspartic topcoats for added build and durability
* Simiron Rokrez anti-slip additive incorporated into the finish
The result is a completely different garage — clean, durable, slip-resistant, and ready for many more years of use.
We love the perfect new slabs, but jobs like this keep us sharp. Taking old, weathered concrete and figuring out how to properly repair, prep, and transform it is what separates a coating installation from just painting a floor.
