This is an exciting week!! I launched my cooking business, A Family Kitchen, LLC, 13 years ago with one class at my kids' preschool, Geneva Day School, and this week, I celebrate a big milestone -- I will launch my after-school cooking program in 10 schools this week! I am so thankful to the thousands of students I have had the privilege to teach over the years, their wonderful families who have trusted and supported me, and my family and friends who have provided unconditional love and encouragement in this journey. It was not an easy choice to leave my corporate job, go to culinary school, and pursue my dream of owning my own business and helping others learn to cook. I couldn't be happier with how life has turned out. I am so grateful that I took this leap of faith and followed my passion to build the life I dreamed of.
My business has been growing in big ways over the past few years -- with more after-school programs, weekend classes, cooking events, corporate parties, and summer cooking camps - there has been little rest. So in August, I hired the talented Chef Nick Camobreco, a recent graduate of Johnson and Wales University Culinary Arts Program. Together, we are teaching fun, hands-on, creative, and skill-based cooking classes to kids of all ages and loving it! Excited to see where 2026 will take us!
