Burying an electrical junction can be tricky. I looked into many options when I was planning this personal home project of running a 100 amp line out to the shed. This was the best option I could find. I might fill it in with concrete around the outside of the bucket for added sealing. Is that a little too much?

In the Rochester, NY and Finger Lakes Region gutters on your house and other structures are crucial for water management. It takes rain water from the roof and moves it away from the building or structure to protect the building and its foundation. On this particular structure there is no gutter and no eave in this particular location. As a result the water falls directly off of the roof and down the siding causing the siding, sill plate, and framing to rot. If you live in the Rochester, NY area or specifically in Greece, NY then you and your homes/sheds will see heavy rains. When these structures don't have gutters like this shed, that rain water falls off the roof, bounces off the ground, and splashes back up onto the t-11 plywood siding of your shed. This causes the wood to rot. I removed the rotting wood from the bottom 11 inches of this shed and replaced it with PVC board to prevent this from happening again in the future.
