To clear things up, I’ll be posting a reel in a few days explaining in more detail about ants and how they harm your garden.
Yes, I know they aren’t all bad! They play a vital role in the environment. But an abundance of any type of animal will ruin the fragile ecosystem we’re trying to build in our gardens.

What you are seeing here is called “flying ant day.”
This is a mature ant colony looking to mate and find a new home.

Stop these ants before they enter your house and affect your garden. These garden ants LOVE farming aphids. If you see an abundance of them you’re almost guaranteed to have an aphid problem soon if you haven’t already.

Natural pest solutions include:
DE (reapply after every rain)- DE acts like shards of class that destroys the ants exoskeleton and will kill them off within 24-48 hours.
Beneficial nematodes- they feed on ant larvae which will cause the ants to pick up and move their colony’s away from your garden
Boiling water- if you find the holes where they are emerging, pour the boiling water down the hole to kill the nest immediately.

I’m not so sure i believe this Seminole pumpkin 🎃 can survive our summers… it wilts EVERY day even after a heavy morning...

I have named one of my dahlias “Gigantor” in hopes that i will get a dinner plate sized bloom. 🤞🏼
