I have been blessed to do business with Douglas Maynes at Best Tile of Vermont in Williston for the 10 years I have been in the tile industry. I was happy to celebrate his retirement and the passing of the torch to his son Dan.

The tile industry has been fortunate to have a partner like Doug who understands the value of partnering and supporting contractors. Every year, Doug has sponsored numerous events to keep people like me on the forefront of what is being developed in the industry. I just wanted to give a general PSA...please be aware that businesses are currently experiencing an influx of fake Google reviews, I received one this morning for the first time after talking to other contractors about the same issue. These are fairly obviously fake, if you look at the profile of the person leaving the review, you will see a bunch of 1 star reviews all at once for many different business, at times in different parts of the country. Please give businesses a second look when you run across recent 1 star reviews.

Google Maps get your act together, if you can automatically delete real customer's reviews, you can certainly take care of the fake ones.

Wrapped up a kitchen and bathroom floor today. This project was the result of another unqualified installer, unfortunately. The good news is that the stress of failing grout and popping tiles is over and these clients can now truly enjoy these tile floors for years to come, stress free.

At the end of a couple of tough weeks, its encouraging to reflect on the pictures I take from day to day. I spend my days so close up to everything I am doing, that it can be easy to lose sight of the progress. My pictures reflect the broader progress that I dont always see. They remind me why I love what I do so much. Taking each project from a blank space to a fine finish is highly satisfying, putting my borrowed talents to good use.
