Taking this beat-up dresser from bar fight to bold beauty!

This piece had definitely lived a life. Scratches, dents, dings—it looked like it had lost a few rounds in a bar fight and then got chewed on for good measure. But underneath all that, I saw solid bones and serious potential.

When my client picked it as the final piece to complete her bedroom set, I knew I had to bring it back to life.

First up: a deep clean and removal of the k***s that had been glued on (yes, glued). Then came hours of repairs to tackle the damage and bring back the structure.

I stripped the base, gave it a fresh stain, and sealed it up for long-lasting durability. From there, it was more sanding, more repairs, and finally into the spray tent for its transformation.

At the end of the journey, this beautiful dresser will join the other coordinating pieces I’ve done for this client and now this defeated old dresser can shine once again!

OOPS!! I did a thing and forgot to make a formal announcement!

There are times where I get so busy that I forget to circle back and take care of some little detail details. This is one big detail. I wanted to make sure to tell you about.

You may think the BEFORE is a stained finish, but that fake. It’s a faux finish gone wrong. I had to bring this one back from a faux finish gone wrong and turn it into my clients dream dresser.

A beautiful trash to treasure story for this Dixie Dresser. After being abandoned in a barn for many years, it was in definite need of a makeover!
The owner of a large estate found this dresser in a barn when they purchased the property. They let it continue to sit for a few years as well, then finally listed it for free on Marketplace. Free items generally fly off of the shelves, but this one sat and sat.
I continued to watch it for weeks and finally decided to go and check it out.
Other than peeling veneer, a broken drawer and a failing finish, structurally it was actually in good condition.
I started this piece at one point, repaired the drawer, filled the hardware holes, sanded the top and abandoned it for other projects, for EIGHT months!
I had a client that chose it out of my inventory, she could see the vision. So, we developed a plan and off to work I went!
I hope you like the final product. It was a lot of work to bring this back to life. But now it is being useful and loved for many years to come.
