Let’s talk water proofing. This is a recent shower we demo’ed this week. Dry rot all over. As a home owner you often don’t even see this part of the process and yet it’s one of the most important parts of any bathroom remodel. There are a few difference ways to do this. Old school hot mop which we don’t use here at west coast just preference, a new membrane system like Kerdi (usually our preference), but no matter what you choose process is important. Sure making sure tile looks great, grout lines are straight, all critical, but don’t let the fun finish stuff make you forget about the important stuff. It’s kind of like caring more about washing your car than changing the oil. Both important but the cars no good shroud an engine. Next time you are looking to get a bathroom remodeled ask your contractor what their water proofing process is.

Close to wrapping up this bathroom for some friends here in the Sacramento area. Small bathroom renovation. When having a hard time making a tile decision white subways are often a great timeless option.

Another day another bathroom coming together. We did replaced 25’ of old cast under this bathroom that had some leaks and now we are getting ready for flooring and tile in the next week.
