Tasting some of the world’s best figs - part two.
Last summer I got to visit my friend Brian during peak fig season at his California farm where he grows over 400 varieties of the best figs from around the world.
I tasted so many incredible varieties it was impossible to narrow down my favorites into just one video. If you’re interested seeing the other top quality figs from that day, see my previous reel - part one. If you’re interested in growing these varieties, now is a great time to propagate or graft soon (depending on your local climate). Visit the profig website for cuttings.

Tasting the world’s best figs, part 1 of 2. This was last summer at the height of fig season, but right now we’re at the height of fig cutting season. Fig cuttings can be easily propagated to grow a tree, or grafted to existing fig trees.

Part two dropping next week with 6 more of the best figs.

Check out for these and many more of the world’s best varieties.

One of my favorite aspects of gardening is the ability to experiment. Try new things, see what you like, see what works and what doesn’t. Always be learning, from others, and from your own experiences. And share your experiences with others, so we can all learn together.

What tips can you share for protecting bananas or fruit trees from high winds?

A resilient and sustainable food system relies on independent farms, regenerative farming practices, and farmers who are true stewards of the land, growing food to feed people.
Farm policy, corporate greed, and consolidation, has lead to factory farms becoming the default, with over 90% of U.S. meat, dairy, and eggs coming from animals raised in extreme confinement, unsanitary conditions, and corporate-controlled systems.
But many farmers and advocates are standing up to the industrial agriculture system by pioneering a better way to feed their  communities with respect for their animals, neighbors, and the land.
We all have an opportunity to support, promote, and build a better food system that puts quality, resilience, and people over profit.
With the purchases we make and the policies we support, we can help make sustainable farming the default for our food system.

Show your support for the farmers who are leading the way, and take the next step in choosing a better food system by going to the link in my bio and Joining me in signing the Farms Over Factories pledge.
