Finished the mantle and crown molding project today. I thought the mantle turned out pretty good. Our goal was to make it look like an old reclaimed beam/timber. It’s constructed of 1x cedar material wrapped on SPF dimensional lumber, custom built in place to perfectly contour the wall and stones below. The distressing and staining was done by hand and custom blended to match the existing woodwork. @ Shoreview, Minnesota

One of the values of my company is to try to always match the original integrity of the home. This particular kitchen remodel has a custom stain match on this stool and apron with a casing I refer to as “k trim”. Does anyone know the actual name for this style of ranch casing popular in homes from the 50’s? Or why it’s called k trim?

Yesterday makes an important and sentimental day for me, I bought a new truck! Not just any truck, I bought my step dad’s truck. He bought it new in 2013. It’s exactly what I would have shopped for so it’s a huge blessing. Also pictured is my first truck the day I brought it home in 2010. This truck got me through many projects and the first years of starting my company... so many memories with that truck. I sold it to a good man who will use it well and take good care of it. Also pictured is the day I sold my Jeep to get my first truck. That was the first car Emily and I bought together. I’m very thankful for these cars, all the places I have yet to go, and all the things I have yet to do.
