Just a little tip from your local AC guy. We're getting a lot of calls about the AC not coming on after the power has been restored. We're finding blown capacitors and low voltage fuses, burnt out transformers and contactors, and a lot other things that you wouldn't understand if you're not a AC guy.

But we've also finding that their power has not been fully restored. We're finding that they only have one power leg of a two power leg system energized. Your lights and recepticals are feed with a single leg, your electric water heater, stove, and AC system are feed with two power legs.

If your electric water heater, stove, AC system, and only half of your recepticals are not working when power is restored, you may need to call Duke Energy back out before you call the Electrician, Plumber, or AC guy.

If you have a Nest Thermostat and it doesn't light up when power is restored, give it 20 minutes. Nest t-stats are powered from the Airhandler but it has internal battery that goes dead after a few days of no power. It only takes a few minutes of charging and it will magically come back on.
