I suggest as many people as possible consider planting a tree. Do it for yourself, maybe get one for a friend or loved one.This is something that has been done for thousands of years. It will help the nurseries out there, they are really hurting and it's something everyone can enjoy.

I would like to inform anyone thinking of buying certain plant material now to be careful as I saw cold damage on Adonidia "Christmas" Palms and Hibiscus Snow Queen "tree form" at a nursery in Clearwater this past Monday resulting from the cold weather on Sunday night. Cold damage can take weeks, sometimes months to fully appear. As I understand it, the temperature got down to at least 41 degrees at the nursery. It probably did not get down to 32 degrees so the damage seen by me was just tip burn on the palms and discoloration of the foliage for the Hibiscus, although the foliage may and probably will defoliate. Therefore the damage may be limited to what I saw. Time will tell. Just a heads up so that if you notice any new discoloration on plants it could be the result of Sundays cold. Even in the weeks to come. Also we got a bad wind storm last night in the middle of the night. Eric
