A couple of fun built-in benches!

Whether it be in the living room under the TV, around the dining room table, or in a bedroom tucked under the window, a built-in bench is a great way to maximize almost any space. Plus, with storage underneath they are also very functional.

At the Pine House Remodel, our clients were in need of more storage by the front door. We ended up doubling the size of the existing closet by combining it with a built-in from the hallway that was hard to use. We then added large double doors for easy access and custom storage that maximizes the space.

What happens when the existing addition on a 100+ year old home is small, falling apart, and not functioning for the current homeowners? We design a plan for a new and improved addition that fits every single one of their needs.

One of the many aspects that makes this kitchen so dreamy is all of the natural light! ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

A common concern with adding windows in a kitchen is the reduced amount of space for upper cabinets. In this kitchen, we made sure this would not be the case and added a large island in the center with plenty of storage. This gave us room for a large window above the sink, on either side of the range, and in the French doors that open to the covered patio. This way the homeowners have lots of natural light and plenty of storage!

Thank you for helping us make 23 years possible 🎉!

23 years ago this month, Ann, Annie, & Jared founded an architectural firm in Salt Lake City that primarily focuses on remodels. Ann and Annie knew that many homeowners were seeking design help with remodels, but neither of them had a business background. Annie shared the idea with her sister, Lori whose husband, Jared, was taking a business class. One of his assignments was to write a business plan, and Lori thought maybe Annie and Jared could help each other out.

Ann, Annie, & Jared began to casually meet to discuss the idea, began work on a few small projects for friends and family, and entered their plan in a statewide business contest. Within a few months, they started Renovation Design Group and within a couple of years moved their office into an attic on 1300 East.

Since then, they have helped renovate over 1,500 houses in the Salt Lake Valley and beyond. The team has also evolved with Jared leaving the firm in 2013 and Ann retiring at the end of 2023. But our mission has stayed the same - to have lots of fun & to help homeowners create a new design for a better life in their home.

After ➡️ before of the laundry room at our Pine House Remodel!

While a shared laundry room and bathroom might seem like a good idea, the reality in this home was a room that lacked function and was full of wasted space. The existing shared laundry room and bathroom included a small pedestal sink, tiny shower, toilet, large washer and dryer, and tons of space in the middle of the room.

When the homeowners decided to renovate their basement, creating a designated laundry room was a must and so was maximizing every inch. We reconfigured the layout to create this functional and still large laundry room. The space is maximized with cabinets, hanging space, and also functions as a hallway to the storage / mechanical room.

And the best part might just be that the floors are heated 🔥.
