After ➡️ before of the laundry room at our Pine House Remodel!

While a shared laundry room and bathroom might seem like a good idea, the reality in this home was a room that lacked function and was full of wasted space. The existing shared laundry room and bathroom included a small pedestal sink, tiny shower, toilet, large washer and dryer, and tons of space in the middle of the room.

When the homeowners decided to renovate their basement, creating a designated laundry room was a must and so was maximizing every inch. We reconfigured the layout to create this functional and still large laundry room. The space is maximized with cabinets, hanging space, and also functions as a hallway to the storage / mechanical room.

And the best part might just be that the floors are heated 🔥.

How did we convert 1 and a 1/2 bathrooms into 2 bathrooms?

Since both upstairs bathrooms shared a wall, we expanded the powder into a portion of the larger one to make room for a shower. We then closed off the hallway entrance to the larger one and used the remaining space to create a dreamy primary bathroom with storage, double sinks, and a large soaking tub.

Which opening do you think is original? The one to the left or the one to the right of the couch?

During this home’s kitchen remodel we opened the kitchen to the dining room but kept the shared wall with the living room. This helped us maintain a clear separation of the spaces, preserve the home’s original character, and save on the costs associated with adding a large beam.

We improved the connection between the kitchen and living room by expanding the size of the opening to match with the existing one between the dining room and living room. Now these main living spaces flow and function for the family while also keeping with the home’s original style!

An addition and outdoor entertaining space that makes space for what the homeowners love!

At this home, we replaced an existing addition with a larger one to fit the homeowners needs. This included adding storage, creating a dedicated zone for the laundry, adding a wider staircase for easy access to the lower level storage room and crawl space, and improving the connection to the backyard. Now these homeowners have the space they need inside as well as outside!

Cozy spring mornings perfect for a good book and a warm beverage on the porch!

This front porch is from a project 10+ years ago, but is still one of our favorites. The large bench swing, coverage above, and views create a dreamy spot.
