Did you know that all registered locksmiths in the state of Texas are required to carry a pocket card that shows their individual license number, but also the license number of the company that they work for. While a private security license isn’t required to “pop-a-lock” on a vehicle, most other services require a person to be either licensed themselves and working under a company’s license. Do yourself a favor and the next time you call a locksmith ask him if he can produce his pocket card so that you can at least have the peace of mind that he was thoroughly vetted by the Department of Public Safety. My work van overheated this week and I didn’t expect to spend my Saturday ripping the front end off to replace the radiator fans and water pump, but glad I got her mostly back together. Saved probably a grand by not taking it to the dealer. I’ll finish it up in the morning after I go spray off all the antifreeze at the car wash.
