Baby Bewick’s wrens in the lamppost. Their parents have been working from dawn to dusk delivering bugs, and the babies are getting big. I’m watching for them to fledge any day now.

🐍 I looked up from my computer, and wow, this western rat snake was poking out from behind the decorative mirror only a few feet away, outside the window! They are shy snakes that hide when they see you coming so it was neat to watch from such a close spot. Check out how long it was!

You know that kid who saves their confetti eggs until after Fiesta has passed and then cracks them open once everything has calmed down and everyone has reset. That’s this bed! A melee of colors that don’t quite go together, yet somehow they do just because they share so much exuberance.
