Have you got PILES in your house?!?? We are all PILER people at my house. Papers, letters, books, crafts, magazines, notes, etc etc end up in PILES. The good news? A pile is contained. Meaning all the crap is in one place - or several piles of crap. But at least it’s not spread out ALL OVER the place. And you know what? I’m ok with a pile. I can allow a pile to pile up on my counter because I know that I will DEAL with it. It’s kind of like my dump box.👌🏽😅 SO, how to deal with it? 1. Put on some nice music. 2. Pour a glass of your favorite beverage 😀 3. Find a clear space - table, counter top, sofa, floor, bed, wherever. 4. Lift the whole pile (one pile at a time!) to that space. 5. Then sort each item in the pile into categories, such as: kids’ art to be hung; letters for ACTION folder; documents to be filed; books for book shelf; empty envelopes for stationery cabinet; donations for donation bag. 6. Once you’ve sorted the whole pile, go put each category where it belongs, ie where it has a “home” within your home. Make sure you put each category away properly - no dumping the books in a pile (another pile!!! No!! Bad!!) on the book shelf — put the books upright between the other books, however they are organized. And voila, everything from that pile is in its place. Shouldn’t take longer than 30 minutes. 7. Pat yourself on the back for your amazing pile sorting skills, sigh a happy sigh, and move on with Life 💕😘

During these days between Christmas and New Year, it’s a great time to clear out some of our STUFF on our local “Buy Nothing” groups on Facebook. Buy Nothing is a wonderful neighborhood resource where you can post things you want to give away - everything from a spatula, to empty moving boxes, to clothing! You can also Ask or Wish for things that you might need, and someone on your neighborhood would be happy to pass on to you. You don’t even have to drive your stuff to a donation center! For example, I was holding on to these 3T pajamas for.. ??? a friend.. future baby ...?? But I decided it’s time to LET THEM GO. NOW. Because someone could use them right NOW. So I took a quick pic, posted it in my local Buy Nothing group, picked a person who had said they could use them, and they are going to come get them from my porch in two days! Sorted!

It’s a wrap! Who else is wrapping presents at night? I recommend laying out everything you need - scissors, wrapping paper, tape, string, bows, name stickers, bags, markers etc - and then equip yourself with a nice glass of wine and good music!
