What if everyone in a neighborhood stopped using pesticides, stopped raising pet plants and started creating environment? My neighbors are ok, and many have large trees which really helps. This was our treat for today, lousy video aside. A sharp shinned hawk decided to use the front pond for a drink. This was from about 20 feet away.

I struggle to capture good pictures of what is going on in the pond. There are three major types of fish in the pool, Bluegill, Koi Comet Goldfish and Rosy Barbs. The Rosy Barbs are huge for their species and small by the standards of the other species. And they somehow hang with the other fish. Interesting.

I have tried, repeatedly to post, only to have the post disappear in a stall of some sort. It might be my fault, it might be some sort of algorithm that FB uses to milk me to promote myself for profit. I am not a business and have little use for promotion. I actually have three ponds at the moment. This is one I made for the birds, in a wilderness area we own near Mexico. Today we saw about three dozen birds and probably 8 species. Brown Thrashers and Quail were the highlights.
