I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and wish you a great upcoming year, 2024. I have been busy, as we all have, with personal, business, employment, or contract work, and trying to stay well. Recently, I had two colds just six weeks apart. I blame the colds on the kids I work with for 15 hours per week in an after-school program (I started about two months ago). I will no longer continue working with the kids if my immune system does not improve (no more colds or anything else). Besides two colds almost back to back, I love the shortened hours, holidays, spring and summer breaks, and the kids (3rd-5th grade).

I still do succulent workshops: garden clubs, recreation centers, women's clubs, a regular contractor for the Oasis in Grossmont Center, etc., during the weekend and when I am off as a part-time employee.

I have not had any recent vacations, except for a trip to Detroit to visit a friend. It was one of the most relaxing and fun stays I have had. I also spent some time with my nephew and his family in Detroit. There are many beautiful places--including downtown, so much to do. I was pleasantly surprised.

The County of San Diego Master Gardeners has its Fall Festival on Saturday, October 14th. So much to take advantage of during the festival. Please take a look at the flyer for a summary.

I will be one of the workshop facilitators and attend a seminar.

During my workshop, I will talk to participants about using succulents to create living art, and then each participant will create a succulent-filled wine bottle arrangement to take home.
