Eugene Permaculture Project

Eugene Permaculture Project My semi-rural permaculture project starts now! I'm planning to transform my property into a good forest and permaculture haven. Come be a part of the community!

I have been interested in permaculture concepts for years but until now I have not had the space needed to have much success. As of last month, we began renting a new place with an adequate yard to begin experimenting. I am not an expert, I am not a certified Permaculture designer, I am one man attempting to turn a barren back yard which will barely support grass, into a permaculture haven. My hop

e is this community can be one of learning and sharing ideas. The actual project may succeed, it may also fail but lessons will be learned and fun will be had.

- Call me crazy... It's probably just a seasonal thing but I feel like I'm already starting to see much of the biodiversity here flourish. This week alone I was visited for the first time by a deer, a red tail hawk, turkey vultures, and probably fiver new small bird varieties I haven't been able to identify yet. I'm loving it. Always something to do... But in a good way.

Hey y'all! I did a thing! I bought a lil "hobby" farm in western Eugene, Oregon to live out my permaculture and homesteading dreams, which means I have made the hard decision to leave beautiful and sunny San Diego. It's been a very bitter-sweet process but I couldn't be happier with my beautiful new home and property.

There's already an established raised bed garden with raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, grapes, and all the essential herbs. I have an acre of which about 60% is currently a pasteur (complete with a big, red barn) and the other 40 is a forested slope. I have several established apple and cherry trees.

I'm really excited to get this page moving again. Expect to see more posts coming soon and back on topic. I really hope that you'll continue to follow me on this journey of balancing my corporate life with my homesteading/farming one and I hope to get new followers along the way, hopefully some local folk as well so I can share some of the upcoming abundance.
