My favorite thing as a little girl was our family Sunday drives. While some would head out to the country, we would tour the beautiful neighborhoods, pointing to one house or another and scream, "that one!" when we came upon a place that felt like home. This was the beginning of my obsession with people and their places.
But it wasn't only the stone walls and tidy gardens that captured my little girl fantasies. More, I imagined what the people through the windows were doing, what life they experienced that I might never know.
Wherever I go now, I stare up at the windows and wonder, what beautiful fairy princess might live there?
My thoughts were and are forever of homes filled with a kind of beauty more felt than seen. Like the love pouring through this window, you can feel it, can't you, there? No matter where you are in the world, that's what I am wishing for you now.
Don't give up, don't give in. Because the joy within you, no matter how small, can light up the window for all of us to see. Much love, jk [Read more in the blog; new entry this Saturday, link in bio]
