Sometimes all you need are a few tweaks to your space and make a huge difference! For this client, we did the following:

⭐️Added drawer units inside the cabinets to keep toys contained and organized.
⭐️ Styled the shelving so everything felt more balanced.
⭐️Switched around the art table and nugget for better flow.
⭐️Labeled every bin to help keep toys organized.

It doesn’t seem like much, but makes a HUGE difference.

Check out this recent bathroom closet glow-up!! This closet was limited with narrow shelving, so we had to create a functional system for our client. Here are the steps we used to organize:

1) Editing out the expired or no longer used items.🗑️
2) Consolidating like with like; creating categories.🧼
3) Finding another home for the bulkier items, like linens, towels, and toilet paper.🧻
3) Sourcing all the same bins to maximize the space. 🧺
4) Labeling!! 🏷️

We are firm believers that open shelving should be functional AND styled! Storing items shouldn’t come at the cost of sacrificing aesthetics. Here are a few tips to help keep your shelves looking beautiful:

1) Line up all edges of books for cohesion.
2) Use decorative baskets to store multiples or unsightly items.
3) Keep it light with the tchotchkes.

As a professional organizer and mother, I can tell you that staying organized is HARD! The first pic is what I’d like my son’s drawer to look like, the second, well that’s what it actually looks like! 🤪🫣 Even organizers are unorganized at times! Nobody is perfect. 😉

It’s OK if everything is messy, some days we don’t have the time (or energy) to keep things tidy. Not to mention, we may be tidy but those little ones that live rent free are not! 😝

What is important is prioritizing your time and energy with your family. That doesn’t mean to live in a mess that drives you crazy, it just means seek help where you can to free up your time!
