This homeowner’s door was dry and thirsty. They had us out to refresh it. Thankfully, their overhang keeps the rain away, and with a fresh varnish, we brought it back to life and protected it for years to come.

Our roots are Sicilian and Guatemalan, so naturally—great food and even better kitchens are in our DNA. For us, the kitchen isn’t just a place to cook—it's where connection happens. Growing up, both Ernesto and I had nine siblings each. That meant big meals, loud laughter, and always a full table.

My (Catherine) mom made sure all 12 of us sat down for dinner every night. No DoorDash, no takeout—just homemade meals and each other.

Back in 1980, when my dad remodeled our home, he knocked down walls to create what we now call a Great Room—a combined kitchen and dining space where life happened. The kitchen has always been a unifying force for our family—and that’s why it’s one of our favorite rooms to design and paint for our clients.
