A first look at our inspiration for the Tiburon Fire Station 11 renovation.

Our goal is to create a space that feels modern, welcoming, and highly functional for the firefighters and community it serves every day. Warm wood tones, layered lighting, and acoustic materials come together to create an environment that feels both durable and uplifting.

Welcome to Studio SQUIRE HQ, where Bay Area homes and boutique commercial spaces come to life. Part design studio, part creative laboratory, and just a little bit rock and roll, this is where we spend our days surrounded by floor plans, fabric samples, material boards, and a whole lot of coffee. We keep our projects organized so we can grab what we need at a moment’s notice, keep the tunes fresh, and give every project everything we’ve got. We work hard, care deeply, and feel incredibly lucky to have created a space that reflects who we are, supports the work we love, and feels a little bit like home.

Universal design is becoming an important conversation as many of us begin helping care for aging parents. The good news is that designing a safer bathroom does not mean sacrificing style. Features like grab bars, curbless showers, and built in shower benches can feel elevated and seamless when their finishes are coordinated with plumbing fixtures, tile, and the overall aesthetic of the home.

Even if you are not currently designing for aging in place, a renovation is the perfect opportunity to think ahead if you plan to stay in your home long term. When walls are already open, installing blocking behind the drywall for future grab bars is a simple investment that can make a big difference later on. Great design is about creating a home that supports you beautifully for years to come.

There’s nothing we love more than the process of bringing a vision to life. From walking the stone yard and selecting the perfect slabs of Calacatta Viola, to seeing them installed in the kitchen and fireplace, watching every layer of a project come together never gets old.

We’re officially at the finish line of our San Francisco whole home renovation. Furniture installation starts tomorrow, window treatments are up next, and this home is quickly becoming one of our favorite transformations to date. Our Secret Garden project is a true showstopper, and we cannot wait to share the finished result with you all.

There’s something really special about being in a room full of people who care deeply about beautiful design, creativity, and making spaces feel meaningful. We had such a wonderful time at the San Francisco Decorator Showcase and left feeling very inspired (and mentally redesigning at least three rooms on the drive home). Thank you to Pietra Fina for hosting such a lovely event, and congratulations to all of the incredibly talented designers and teams who made this year’s showcase house such a success. We feel lucky to be part of the Bay Area design community.

Lighting really is the jewelry of a room.

It can be sculptural, subtle, dramatic, or soft, but it always has the power to change how a space feels. The right fixture does more than brighten a room. It adds personality, creates mood, and brings that extra layer that makes the design feel complete.

Sometimes lighting quietly supports the rest of the room. Other times, it is the statement piece that steals the show. Either way, it can become the detail that draws your eye and makes the whole space feel more memorable.

This pup understood the assignment and added the perfect lived-in touch to this kitchen photoshoot.
