Replaced some struggling plants in this garden with new bromeliads. The variety is attractive and can take some of that afternoon sun unlike many other varieties.

Knowing which plants can take what kind of sun makes a huge difference. And some varieties are much hardier than others, making them easier to adapt to different light and water situations.

I am so so happy with how this garden turned out! (Look through to see the ā€˜beforeā€™ pictures.)

We went for mostly natives and Florida-friendly plants that will thrive in this type of light, and provide color throughout the years! I especially love the roses šŸ„°

It can look a little bare when a garden is first planted, but after a few months you can typically get a better idea of how things will look once theyā€™re all filled in.

PS- I take NO credit for all of the beautiful potted plants. That was all the homeowner. šŸ˜šŸŒøšŸ©µ

I am thinking of hosting a seed-starting workshop next month for spring gardens.

This is ideal if you are a beginner gardener and havenā€™t tried starting your own seeds yet, or are a more experienced gardener but donā€™t have great germination and arenā€™t sure whatā€™s going on.

Weā€™ll talk about soil, seed depth, lighting for different plants, best vessels to start different seeds, etc.
