Happy Friday, friends.
This week felt a little like a storybook.

There was time spent tending the garden, checking on what was growing and blooming.

I searched for just the right cushions, ordered the chandelier for the porch, and enjoyed a few treasure-filled vintage shopping adventures.

Bouquets were gathered and arranged, bringing a little beauty indoors. The birds kept me company all week, singing from morning until evening—and eating me out of house and home! I wouldn't have it any other way.

One of my favorite moments was seeing Sally our (outdoor) bunny return. (Don't tell Cannoli) She has been visiting the garden again, and I was even able to hand-feed her several times.

It was a week filled with simple joys, little projects, and quiet moments worth remembering. 🌿🐦🐇💐

This little white planter from changed everything out here. 🤍🌸

I didn't know how much I needed it until I put it out here — and now I can't imagine my porch without it.

It just pulled everything together for me — my white rockers, the bunting, the pink geraniums — just perfect. Plus it was so easy to put together and such a pretty finishing touch for my slow summer days. ☀️

Let's talk today about who we're actually decorating for?

For a long time I think a lot of us were styling our homes with one eye on the door. The good candles staying in the drawer. The pretty dishes staying on the shelf. The everyday getting the leftover version of everything.

Somewhere along the way I decided to stop waiting. To light the good candle on a Monday. To set a pretty table for just Andrew and me. To put the flowers where I can see them.

And something shifted. Our home started feeling less like a stage and more like a sanctuary.

That's what decorating for yourself really means. Not selfish — intentional. The vintage piece with a story. The corner styled just because it brings you joy on an ordinary afternoon.

You don't need a reason. You don't need guests coming. You don't need a special occasion.

You are the occasion!

The bare floor was bothering me more than I let on. 😄
