Did you know? There was never an offical 47-star US flag! New Mexico became the 47th state on January 6, 1912, but Arizona became the 48th just 39 days later. Because new stars officially took effect only on July 4, the official flag went straight from 46 stars to 48 stars. That makes this an extremely rare example, and notable for its size as well!
