Would you do this??

This may seem like a weird combo, but I’m telling ya - ripping out English ivy from the forest next to our house as been such a great workout, and the sense of accomplishment I feel afterwards is even better. And Seattle forests are just COVERED in it! Next time you’re driving look for ivy climbing the trees. Eventually it will topple the them (and take the forest with it). I’m always left with a feeling that the problem is almost too big to solve… but what if…

People head to the gym all the time to move their muscles - but the energy doesn’t go towards anything. Meanwhile, our society is lacking in community (and this would get people together), mental health is low (and time spent in nature improves mental health), and our forests are struggling (they need our help!). If these two activities were combined? How cool!!

If you think this idea has merit, do you know of any health coaches you could send this to?

They keep me on my toes over here 🫠

I recently got a date stamper for our eggs so I can keep track of when we collected them. Our gals are now laying about seven eggs per day, so we’ve been giving away a lot of eggs to friends. Come summer, we plan to have our little farm stand up and running. Stay tuned!

If you’re into native plants, supporting wildlife and growing your own food in the city, hit follow and I’ll be sharing more tips in the coming months.

When the news cycle’s got me down I like to fix something. So tonight, my Dad’s old guitar got a tune up ✌️

If you’re new here, hiya! Normally I’m not restringing guitars, I’m gardening to support wildlife and teaching others how to do it. I know the learning curve can be tough, so I made a set of guides to teach families how with just enough info to give you what you need to be successful, but not so much that you’re overwhelmed before you begin.

Oh, and they’re designed for kids. Think adult-level info, kid-level delivery. That way, you can learn alongside your little Tasmanian devil, and maybe even spark their interest in nature and science along the way ;)

The link to my guides is in my bio, and hit follow so we can keep in touch!
