He thought I said “a few flower beds.”

I meant a flower farm.

Send Red Bull. And maybe more chainsaw chains.

Tiny hunter. Big job.

Found this little jumping spider tucked into the flowers, already hard at work patrolling the leaves. I left her right where she was because every flower farm needs a few tiny predators on staff. No pesticides required—just nature doing what nature does.

Yesterday’s rain soaked everything, and this morning the sun came through just enough to warm the trees and send steam drifting through the forest. It felt like the whole mountain was quietly waking up.

Little moments like this are why I love living here.

New chainsaw day on the flower farm clearing project. Hubz upgraded me from the battery-powered saw I’ve been using to a 16” Stihl Light, and let me tell you… this little thing may be compact, but it gets after it. Faster cuts, easier handling, and perfect for clearing limbs, cutting firewood, and all the messy prep work before fencing goes in. One step closer to turning this forest edge into flower rows.

Some dreams take more than a vision board.

They take dirt, sweat, equipment, long weekends, burn piles, chainsaws, and a husband who believes in what you’re trying to build — sometimes before it looks like anything at all.

So thankful for a husband who doesn’t just listen to my dreams, but helps make them happen.

Little by little, this piece of woods is becoming the flower farm I’ve been imagining. 🌲🌸

Building a flower farm in the woods is not exactly instant gratification.

We’ve been clearing this area for months, and now the husband is sharpening chains again as we work toward clearing property lines and prepping for fencing. It’s gritty, slow, and a whole lot of work—but every pass gets us one step closer to rows of flowers.

Before the blooms comes the grind.

Sometimes life hands you news that leaves your heart heavy — like realizing someone you love has lost her way. Tonight, I came outside, worked the land, and let the fire, the trees, and the quiet remind me that peace can still find us in the middle of worry.

One small step. One cleared space. One breath at a time.

First peony blooms of the year and honestly… Becky, just look at her. 🌸

These beauties do so well at my elevation, I’m officially adding a row or two of peonies to the future flower farm area. If they’re going to show off like this, they deserve a large section.

My very first resin art piece may have gotten a little carried away… but honestly, I’m not mad about it. 🌊✨

This ocean clock has been a full learning curve — deep pours, waves, rocks, driftwood, starfish, sanding, and all the little details that make it feel like a tiny piece of the coast.

Not finished yet, but she’s getting close.
