Barbara Collins Interior Design Specializing in residential remodeling, custom projects, and project management. I love all things houses and homes. There are no “rules” in design.

I am Interior Designer Barbara Collins…you can call me Barbie or Barb. My design style is more classic traditional, with a healthy dose of drama, but I design for the style of my clients and what works best for their design goals and lifestyle. YOUR home is YOUR story; it is where you live, love, and celebrate life. I like to design timeless spaces that tell YOUR story, while encouraging you to be your best self. Good design is personal and individual…one size should never fit all. I love mixing old and new pieces, highs and lows, and antiques and heirlooms. I graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Environmental Studies: Interior Design. I am an Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer (AKBD) with the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), and I am an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). My design services include:

That’s a wrap on High Point Market!!! It was an incredible four-day experience packed with educational insights, and I absolutely loved seeing the stunning designer collections. I enjoyed connecting with industry leaders and I feel incredibly blessed to be a part of such an exciting industry. I am still obsessed with the amazing furniture pieces and lighting that I observed at market!!

A huge thank you to my official chair tester (Blake). A huge part of sourcing is testing out furnishings for quality and comfort. It is vital to know how a piece “sits.” Is it comfortable? Will it last? How does it feel? Thank you for your hard work! If you can guess how many chairs that he “sat” and tested, you will win a brand-new set of steak knives!!!!

I have a full camera roll of many beautiful furnishings. I will share a few of my favorite finds from market and hopefully they will inspire you, too!

I’ve incorporated vessel sinks many times to transform furniture pieces into functional vanities and to create distinctive vanity areas with custom cabinets. I think of them as “big, bold wash bowls” that make a striking visual statement, and I’ll continue to use them whenever the space calls for it.

It was great to spend the evening connecting with industry peers at the CEU networking event, Sustainable Luxury Kitchens Connecting Design, Technology, and the Smart Home. The event was hosted by Slyman Bros. Appliance Center in Ballwin. The event was put together by ASID and the NKBA with the Sustainable Luxury Kitchens program provided by Monogram Appliances.

Took away some great insights to bring back to my clients! It is always good to stay on the forefront of industry trends. As a wonderful bonus, we participated in a floral arranging activity and brought home gorgeous fresh flowers from Rudy’s flower truck!!! I loved getting fresh flowers!!
