Landscape Laborers

Landscape Crew Leaders

Responsible for performing work involved in commercial & residential maintenance, including, but not limited to semi-skilled grounds renovation and maintenance work, operation of small hand-powered equipment, and some work that could involve larger equipment - tractors, trucks, mowers, loaders, aerators, verticutter and other maintenance equipment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates mowers for sports fields & common areas, natives.
- Operates string trimmers & edger’s for trimming around trees, fence lines, and hillsides; edge & blow walk paths.
- Spot spray weeds under the direct supervision of a certified applicator.
- Help with installation work; lay sod, seeds, renovations
- Ensures all equipment systems are working properly before using equipment in the field.
- Refill fuel and oil daily for machines used.
- Clean equipment daily and report problems or failures to Foreman/ Supervisor immediately.
- Provide basic preventative maintenance on equipment as directed by Foreman/ Supervisor.
- Work with Supervisor and Foreman improving maintenance schedules and systems.
- Other duties as directed by supervisor.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL NEED:
- General understanding and experience in landscaping.
- A positive attitude, leads by example, and willing to adapt in a competitive environment.
- Spanish/ English speaking is a plus, but is not required.
- Current CA driver’s license is a plus, but is not required.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Landscape Construction Foreman will be in charge of running a crew for landscape installations and renovations.
-5+ years of experience in Landscape Installation, Construction, and Masonry
-Knowledge of Installation with; masonry, hardscape, grading, drainage, lighting, planting, and irrigation
-Experience operating heavy equipment -skid steer, mini-excavator, backhoe, bobcat, etc.
-Bilingual - English/Spanish - communications, interpersonal, and writing skills required
-Run construction site and organize the crew to ensure they have the proper resources needed to complete tasks
-On-site quality control, ensure the project is built to company standards
-Able to read construction plans
-Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements
-Physically able for site prep, digging, moving materials, etc.

• Landscape Construction: 3 years (Required)

Must be Experienced in Landscape Construction

Work as landscape construction laborers installing landscapes for residential properties, both new construction and renovation work. We specialize in plants, irrigation, decomposed granite, pavers and concrete hardscape.

Responsibilities:
Good attention to detail.
Use of small equipment - mini skid steers, compactors, trenchers
PVC irrigation system installation.
Wiring and controller programming.
Digging/Trenching as required.
Frequently lifting items of up to 40-75lbs
