Our herd Sire “Boots” is currently in full rut, but if you live within a 10 mile radius of the farm you probably already knew that 👃🤣. Bucks in rut put out the “vibe” by urinating on themselves, further spreading their lovely smell. Truth is, he knows what he’s doing, and a smelly buck in rut will not only attract does, but it can even put his potential suitors into estrous (heat), making the chase a little easier. Axe Body Spray for goats, if you will. Thankfully, Boots has yet to show any aggression and just gets a little extra goofy during rut. Although the leaves haven’t started changing yet, fall breeding season is certainly upon us and preparations are being made!
