Still rockin.

Apparently when you don’t post for months, FB thinks you must be closed. Surprisingly, we don’t run on the whims of social media and Ransom Brothers is doing just fine. Got an alert this morning that FB was “suggesting” that we change our hours from 8-5 to “permanently closed” and that they would do it for us if we didn’t respond. 😂 Here is our response.

We are a small family owned painting company that works primarily on high end homes in South Haven. If you would like to learn the trade of painting mixed in with some small carpentry jobs and other similar tasks, this is a great opportunity. You will work directly with the two owners of Ransom Brothers who have a combined 70+ years of experience. We are happy to train a motivated, trustworthy, detail oriented, positive individual. We pride ourselves on doing top notch work and expect our employees to strive for a high level of workmanship as well. For the right person there is plenty of room for moving into more than an entry level role.

We work Monday thru Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm with a 1/2 hour lunch break.

The majority of our work is in the residential repaint market.

Experience is not required but showing up on-time, attention to detail, and being a self starter are a must.

Reliable transportation is a must.

Must be 18 or older.

We train on-site. We also strip wallpaper, power wash & stain decks as well as all interior/exterior work. Experience in the trades can be a plus.

Experienced painters are encouraged to apply as well.

Responsibilities

Cover up and cleanup.
Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc.
Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster)
General labor involved in completing painting jobs
Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
Apply paint, stain, varnish and other finishes
Set up and move ladders, planks and other heavy objects
Skills

Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.
Conscientious with great attention to detail
The ability and desire to learn new things and to excel in all tasks
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $20.00 per hour depending on experience, and other factors

We transported and installed these doors today to finish up the shutter and door job, and I got a few more pictures of the wallpaper in this home, specifically the work done by Dad (Dwight) to match the paper on the switch covers. All of the outlet covers are like this as well, and there are at least two more rooms with different paper from this project that I didn’t get pictures of. ~Aaron @ South Haven, Michigan

On the second round of shutters. Many hours of prep work. Installed some from the first batch. Lots of wallpaper in this home that we installed back in 2000. Brings back lots of memories of that time in my life, many hours were spent at this home and a lot of those hours were spent helping my dad hang this paper. I will have to take some more pictures that show how all of the outlet and switch covers have wallpaper perfectly matched into the pattern on the wall. - Aaron @ South Haven, Michigan
