The satellite ground station at Cosmic Egg connected Playa with space. With these antennas, we listened to cosmic background radiation and beacon sounds of earth orbiting satellites. What is more, this hotline to outer space enabled Burners to send their message to the Andromeda galaxy. What would have been your message to extraterrestrials?

During the opening night, our Cosmic Egg was full of intergalactic magic. Space Pope Charles White held an opening speech, and people started sending their messages to space.

In the day time, Cosmic Egg was a place for people to cool down and organize all kinds of workshops and get togethers. The intergalactic energies within the dome fueled events from silk scarf dying workshops to even one wedding. ❤️

According to Finnish folklore, universe was created from an egg. Similarly, our Cosmic Egg contains the earth and the universe. In so doing, it invites the dwellers of the desert to explore and enjoy their wonders.

The Cosmic Egg by night. During the night time our space station was lit to provide a sanctuary for the wanders of Playa. Inside the dome, sounds of cosmic background radiation and satellites orbiting earth were mixed with soft natural sounds and shamanistic tunes to create an experience of being in real-time connection with space. How amazing is that?

Building of the Cosmic Egg in the middle of the desert was hard at times, but always fun and magical. Most importantly, we built it together and learned a lot from each other in the process.
