Small custom cabinet shop searching for a CNC Operator that is able to manage and coordinate multiple projects. We are looking for a competent CNC Operator to use computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery safely and accurately to perform a variety of functions. CNC Operators are highly skilled professionals, able to work with great concentration and precision. A qualified candidate must be responsible and comply with all safety guidelines. A keen eye for detail and great mechanical aptitude are also essential. Ideal individuals would have experience/knowledge in the cabinetry and finished carpentry trades. A qualified candidate can work as a team and independently. We are looking for someone with excellent work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to multi-task and collaborate well with others. Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Thursday (4-10 hour shifts)

Experience: CNC Operating, Cabinet making, and cabinet shop work a plus (3 years preferred) Prior experience with Cabinet Vision and AutoCAD preferred

Responsibilities include:
• Preparing and operating CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
• Understanding the specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
• Translating instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
• Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
• Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
• Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate a large number of parts
• Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
• Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
• Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure the functionality
• Studies and interprets drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, the sequence of operations and setup requirements
• Keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment
• Intermediate knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments such as calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and scales
• Intermediate knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an intermediate understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensions
• Intermediate knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bards, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines
• Properly inspects parts and machines on a regular basis, keeping the Supervisor informed in regards to rejected parts, scrap, problems with machines, etc.
• Performs setups and edits on CNC machines to follow specifications of designated prints. This includes mounting fixtures, components and castings and making necessary adjustments, ensuring that operations are performed exactly to print specifications.
• Reviews finished product from the machining process to ensure quality and accuracy in the product and ensures machine is shut down if product does not meet print specifications, until the problem is solved.
• Loads and unloads parts to and from fixtures, ensuring correct parts are loaded onto appropriate fixture for the job.
• Responsible for keeping machine area in a clean and tidy manner by regularly cleaning in, on, and around the machines to prevent chip build-up and/or coolant spills.
• Responsible for ensuring that machining process is constantly monitored to ensure quality.
• Ensures machines are properly maintained as per the designated schedule.
• Documents problem areas or machine breakdowns and report to management immediately.
• Responsible for consistently following safety procedures and advising supervisor or manager of any safety related issues.
• Must wear PPE (personal protective equipment) designated for that particular job at all times
