It isn't that oak is hated. It is appreciated for many of its qualities. The hardness of the wood makes it durable enough for floors. Not many wood species can say that. It has a strong grain that gives character and shows that it is wood. It has weight. Because it is a dense wood,when you open a door of solid oak you know it. That just feels good.

But, in the color pallets of the last 15 years, orange and red woods just have a hard time finding a home.

Enter painting, and as an alternative..wood toning...because some people, like me, still love some wood components. Just not so orange, please.

Toning is where, after proper prep, we add micro pigments to a clear sealer is a small ratio, and spray coats until the desired depth of color is achieved. Occasionally additional blending techniques are required. Then protective clear coats are applied. Many furniture and mass production cabinets are done this way to produce and even appearance across pieces, and individual pieces of wood rarely match.
