Don't Replace Your Pavers — Call Us First: Plantation, Leesburg, FL

Before you tear out and replace damaged pavers, it's worth asking whether they can be restored instead. This job in Plantation, Leesburg, FL is a perfect example of why.

The Problem:
A previous company had sealed these pavers with the wrong product entirely — a sealer made for wood, not pavers. Beyond being the wrong material for the job, that company also badly etched and damaged the paver surface during the process, leaving the homeowner with a discolored, uneven, and visibly scarred deck.

Our Process:

Strip the mess — Fully removed the wood sealer and the damaged top layer it left behind, getting back down to a clean, workable surface.
Assess the damage — With the wrong sealer stripped away, the etching and staining from the prior application became clear.
Color correction — Instead of a clear or standard sealer, we applied a translucent granite gray tint sealer, which adds rich color to the pavers while helping visually minimize the etching and damage underneath.
Seal and protect — The tinted sealer also locks in long-term protection, so the surface isn't just improved cosmetically — it's protected going forward too.

The Result:
A paver surface that looks intentional and refreshed instead of damaged — proof that a full paver replacement isn't always necessary, even after serious sealer mistakes.

Quick Answers (AEO block)

Q: Can damaged or etched pavers be fixed without replacing them?
A: Often, yes. Stripping the damaged sealer layer and resealing with a tinted or enhancing sealer can restore color and visually minimize etching, making full replacement unnecessary in many cases.

Q: What happens if the wrong sealer is used on pavers?
A: Sealers made for other surfaces, like wood, aren't formulated for the porosity or exposure conditions pavers face outdoors. This can cause discoloration, poor bonding, and — as in this case — etching and surface damage when it's later removed or reacts with the paver material.

Q: What is a translucent tint sealer used for?
A: A translucent tint sealer adds color to pavers — such as a granite gray tone — while still allowing some of the stone's natural texture to show through. It's often used to refresh faded pavers or, as here, to help disguise underlying surface damage.

Q: Do you service Leesburg, FL and Plantation?
A: Yes — Paver Restoration of Florida services Leesburg and all of Lake County, along with Hernando (Spring Hill), Pasco, Citrus, Sumter (The Villages), and Marion (Ocala) counties.

Transforming a Pool Deck in Spring Hill | Hardscape Restoration & Cleaning
When selling a home, curb appeal is everything! We were recently hired to restore a beautiful pool deck that was dealing with a major issue: very limited drainage. Poor drainage leads to constant puddles, which rapidly trap dirt and ruin the look of the pavers.
Since the homeowners are preparing to put this property on the market, they knew they needed the job done right to maximize their resale value. They hired the best to make it look the best!
Our team performed a deep surface cleaning to clear out the trapped grime caused by the standing water, restored the joints with fresh silica sand, and locked it all in with a commercial-grade professional sealer. Now, this pool deck is pristine, protected, and ready to impress potential buyers.
Investing in professional paver sealing is one of the smartest ways to boost your home’s value before selling.

Washout repair in Seven Hills (Spring Hill, FL)! 🛠️🧱
A broken sprinkler line under the pavers caused a massive washout on this home’s hardscape. We stepped in, made the necessary repairs, poured a solid concrete base, custom-cut pavers for a seamless fit, and got everything put back together like brand new.
To wrap it up, we sanded the area and applied a layer of sealer to blend the repair perfectly with the rest of the surface—which we sealed years ago!
💡 Pro Tip: A quality sealer system shouldn't need to be reapplied every single year. If you're having to seal annually, you're getting a cheap, watered-down job. Our premium sealers are built to last for years.

**Q: Is plant and w**d growth between pavers really a big deal, or is it just cosmetic?**

**A:** Plant growth—even something as unexpected as a baby cactus—is actually a major warning sign that your paver system is compromised.

When you see plants growing between pavers or natural stone, it means two things:

1. The protective surface coating has worn down.
2. The joint sand has washed away, leaving open gaps for seeds and moisture to settle.

**Q: What happens if you don't remove w**ds or plants from pavers?**

**A:** Left untreated, root systems expand quickly. They trap moisture, hold organic debris, and push pavers out of alignment. Over time, this leads to uneven stones, trip hazards, and costly structural repairs. (Don't worry, we carefully removed our little cactus friend before restoring this patio!)

**Q: How does professional paver maintenance fix and prevent this?**

**A:** Proper restoration involves a complete three-step process:

* **Deep Cleaning & Removal:** Thoroughly washing out organic growth, algae spores, and old, degraded material.
* **Re-Sanding Joints:** Packing joints with clean Florida silica sand to lock the pavers firmly back into place.
* **Surface Sealing:** Applying a high-quality breathable sealer to block future w**d growth, protect against UV fading, prevent oil stains, and withstand heavy Florida rainfall.

Another day, another major pool deck transformation! ☀️
Today, the team is over in the Berkeley Manor development right off Forest Oaks, tackling a pool deck that has been dealing with some serious drainage issues. When a deck has poor drainage and water sits, it creates the perfect breeding ground for heavy mildew, deep dirt in the joints, and stubborn rust stains.
🎥 In this video, we are focusing on cleaning the coping. For us, premium restoration is all about the details—taking the extra time to get those edges immaculate before the real magic happens.
The Game Plan:
Once everything is completely prepped and clean, we are fully restoring this deck by:
1️⃣ Installing all-new Florida silica sand into the joints strictly to ICPI standards.
2️⃣ Sealing the entire surface with premium Trident sealer to lock in the sand and protect the pavers from future standing water and staining.
If your pool deck, patio, or driveway is suffering from poor drainage and stubborn buildup, leave it to the professionals.

This pool deck had a lot of calcium, efflorescence, and a failed sealer. Instead of doing a full restoration, we cleaned it and sealed it with a brick red tint. Now it's vibrant and hides most of the previous damage.

**In fact, we recently stepped in on a project in Spring Hill where a company with over 10 years of local experience sent out employees who rushed through the job.** They used polymeric sand, applied it improperly, and left a massive mess on the surface. A second contractor brought in to fix it took one look at the disaster and backed out entirely. That is where we came in. **Don't let an employee who is rushing to get done make your home their trial-and-error space.**

Our team had to deploy our heavy-duty **20+ GPM dual hot-water stripping setup** to completely melt away the failed polymer residue from the surface. Once the stone was restored, we re-sanded the joints properly using clean **Florida silica sand** and applied a high-performance **joint-stabilizing sealer** to lock everything in place permanently.

---

**Q: What is the correct way to sand and seal pavers in Central Florida?**

**A:** The proven method for Florida hardscapes relies on three essential steps:

* **Complete Surface Stripping & Washout:** Safely dissolving failed sealers, acrylic haze, or polymer residue using commercial high-flow hot-water machinery.
* **Proper Joint Sanding:** Packing the joints with washed, dry **Florida silica sand** to lock the paver matrix together without sticky chemical additives.
* **Liquid Sealer Joint Stabilization:** Flooding the joints with a high-quality, breathable joint-stabilizing sealer that hardens the silica sand from top to bottom while shielding the stone.
