SW MO PEST PRESSURE NEWS | NOV. 2–8, 2026
Food, water, shelter and entry gaps support pests. This week's prevention priorities:
1) MON–TUE: WIND + STORMS
NWS expects gusts to 35 mph, humid air and possible severe storms Monday evening into Tuesday; 1–2 inches of rain through Wednesday. Keep weather alerts on. After storms pass, check roof vents from the ground. Wildlife Control and Home Repairs start with inspection: never seal animals inside.
2) WED–THU: CHECK WHAT STAYED WET
Cooler, drier air follows: highs in the 60s, lows in the 40s. Prior dryness does not prevent leaks. Inspect Attic Insulation and Crawl Insulation for wet spots; fix water entry and dry promptly. Gutter Cleaning and Gutter Guards need clear outlets. Assess V***r Barriers, Encapsulation and ATMOX Venting from measured moisture, not outdoor weather alone. For Mosquito Control, empty rain-filled tarp folds and scrub containers weekly.
3) FRI–SUN: REMOVE WINTER COVER
Cooler days favor boxelder shelter-seeking. Pest Control starts with leaf piles beside walls and window-frame gaps. For Rodent Control, move pallets and boxes off walls; inspect behind stock for droppings and pipe gaps. Keep food closed and dumpster lids shut. Check construction openings and loading-door corners.
Termite Control: inspect damp wood and wood-to-soil contact; no swarm forecast. Tick Control: clear leaf litter along paths and check after yard work. Bed Bug Control: inspect luggage and used furniture; weather is not the driver.
BirdCast's latest accessible Missouri night was Oct. 31–Nov. 1: migration continued. This is not proof of attic occupancy. Reduce unnecessary night lighting while keeping safety lights.
