When life gets so busy and overwhelming, sometimes you just need to press pause and change your scenery.

Everything is rushed. Being a mom is hard. We make it out of the school year and breathe a sigh of relief only to realize summer is somehow just as chaotic.

Figuring out summer camps and sitters to fill our work hours. Who’s picking up who. Swim lessons, baseball practice, home renovations, trying to stay on top of cleaning, cooking, you know the list of never-ending things. All while trying to still make their summer magical.

You can press pause. You can leave your house an absolute wreck, pack a few bags, and change your scenery. Leave the to-do list for Monday.

It doesn’t have to be an over the top getaway. It can be a two hour drive to your in-laws house in Southern Illinois. Filled with small cafe lunches, cousin baseball games, running around outside in the country, gas station pizza, a trip into town for a cup of coffee, and just a separation from all the chaos you left behind.

It’s always going to be there, so just press pause and learn to rest and enjoy sometimes.
