Attic space turned homeschool classroom with 100% bathroom remodel. The marble shower was removed from the bathroom, and a new tub was inserted. The tub walls and ceiling were tiled, and new fixtures and a shelf were added to complete it. We added built-in shelf space for linens and a closet for attic storage behind it. The older vanity with a single sink was replaced with a new one with marble countertops, double sinks, mirrors, and light fixtures. New tile flooring was done as well.
For the finished room, we first had to move the air conditioning, raise the split-level floor to make it level across, move the water heater into a cubby area, frame the walls and ceiling, install new electrical circuits throughout the room, and install a custom-built butcher block window seat. We also added beadboard to the walls. All the bookshelves and cubbies were custom-built, along with the construction of matching access panel doors for maintaining the air conditioner, water heater, and remaining attic space.
