Teachable moment. A friend bought this house. It hadn’t been pressure washed or painted in several years it was so oxidized the pressure washer took most of it off a handheld blower knocked a lot of it loose. Lots of scraping before able to prime. Fresh washing on a regular basis gets rid of mildew and fungus that eats and feeds on the paint and eventually exposing the wood making it vulnerable then what could’ve been a quick paint and patch job end up being replacing several pieces of damaged wood a lot of which had to be custom-made because you can’t find this trim at any of the stores I’ve checked.
