I wanted to start a page where I could share the good things I make and/or help grow.

Dill pickles

I get lots of compliments on my bread and butter pickles (even some converts), but I get just as many people asking if I make dill pickles.

I do.

These dill pickle chips are packed with dill flavor. There's local dill in the jar as well as dill seeds in the pickle itself.

I also put a quartered clove of my homegrown garlic in with the homegrown cucumbers. It's truly a local treat.

As with my bread and butter pickles, I take great care and extra time when canning to help preserve the crunch of the cucumbers.

Whether eaten out of the jar or on your favorite sandwich/burger, dill pickle fans will love these!

$7 for a pint jar, either regular or spicy.

Cinnamon Raisin Walnut Bread

Think cinnamon raisin swirl bread, but with some extra twists.

The cinnamon and sugar aren't just in the swirl, they're in the dough too.

Then I add chopped toasted walnuts to the dough. As they mix in, their oil spreads through the dough perfuming it with the smell of walnuts. The crunch they add is pretty good too.

Lastly, the literal topper: right after it's out of the oven, I brush butter on and sprinkle cinnamon sugar all over for a sweet, spicy crunch on the top of each slice.

This one's ready and waiting for toasting!

$11 for an 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" loaf.

Pickled Cauliflower, spicy and regular

I'm offering pint jars of pickled cauliflower florets.

These little florets are packed with a great sweet/salty/sour taste (and, if you like, a little bit of pepper flake for some zip). There is also a little bit of sliced onion in there for some extra flavor.

They're great for out of hand snacking, relish trays, and, just like with my dill beans, I love to add them to salads. Perfect little pops of flavor alongside the greens and ranch.

A pint jar is $7.

Happy to arrange pickup or drop off in Sterling, CO.

Gluten Free Pumpkin Bread

I can make these anytime, but whenever you buy this loaf it will make you think of the pumpkin season: leaves changing colors and a chill in the air, while you sit inside comforted with warm spice and the flavor of pumpkin.

My loaves are not the gummy, dense kind tasting as much of tin can as of pumpkin. They’re nicely cakey with the right amount of spice and a little bit of tang from both buttermilk and cream cheese.

I can add toasted walnuts for a $2 upcharge if you'd like.

$13 for an 81/2 x 4 1/2 loaf.

50/50 pickled pepper rings

As the name suggests, 50/50 pepper rings are half sweet cherry peppers and half hot. I planted both and use equal amounts.

Not to complex a recipe here: I put a clove of garlic in each jar and use a brine with a touch of sugar, mustard seed, celery seed, and dried oregano.

If you like spicy, but not so spicy as to pop the top of your head off, these make a great addition to burgers and sandwiches. Personally I like to add them to my Italian meat subs.

They're also great in recipes. I make an Italian sausage frittata. I chop and add these to it for that extra kick.

$7 for a pint jar.

Potato Sandwich Bread

I've got a great (and versatile--it makes great French Toast, sandwiches, and bread with dinner) white sandwich loaf with some potato to keep it moist and tender.

Slightly sweet and made with real butter for flavor, this is bread won't disappoint.

At $8 for about a one pound loaf, it is indeed a little more expensive than a loaf of white at the grocery, but store-bought cannot compete on flavor with homemade with actual butter in the dough. I'm happy to slice it for you too, thick or thin.

It freezes well, so you can save it for those special Sunday mornings, your sandwich at lunch, or for cinnamon sugar toast with your favorite kid, grandkid, or yourself.

I can also make it into about a dozen rolls for the same price.

Charred Onion Relish

This has got to be one of my more popular items. Small wonder when it taste this good!

I start with red onions and char them in the oven. When I say char, I mean it. I go til there are blackened spots and the onions have reduced down by about half. I then add chopped cucumber and spices.

It’s slightly sweet, a little hot, and just a little smoky from the char on the onions. You will love this on sausages, hot dogs, and burgers.

Couple pro tips? Make your own burger sauce by combining some ketchup, mayo, relish, and salt. Great on burgers, but also great to dip fries in! Or, for a quick dinner, cook up some frozen chicken strips, put them on hamburger buns with cheese, mayo, and a spoonful of this relish for a fast and delicious sandwich.

$8 for a pint jar, $4 for half pint.

One last thing: I have a little bit of home grown and roasted squash I could use, but I have limited quantities on that.

Deviled Egg Salad Recipe
I'm here to sell things, but that doesn't mean I can't share a recipe every so often.

The recipe below is one I made for my dinner recently: Deviled Egg Salad. It will work with any brand of pickles, but I like it best with my homegrown and home canned dill pickles, served up on a loaf version of the dough I use for my molasses oat rolls. I had to have a little bit of American too. The only things missing for me would have been some lettuce and possibly some ripe tomato.

If you're interested in a can of dill pickles (my bread and butter chips would be good too if you like your egg salad more on the sweet side) or some great bread for your sandwiches (egg salad or otherwise), message me here. I'm happy to arrange pickup or delivery in Sterling.

Deviled Egg Salad Recipe

8 hard cooked eggs
1/4 to 1/3 C mayo
2 Tbsp mustard (of your choice, dijon, yellow, doesn't matter)
2 tsp tabasco sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 rib of celery, diced
1/4 C diced pickles (dill is my preference)

Chop the eggs and put in a medium bowl. Instead of a knife, a really quick way to do this is to put the whole eggs in a bowl and use a pastry cutter to chop them up.

Add the mayo, mustard, tabasco, salt, and pepper, celery, and pickles. Gently mix up. Use now, or cover and keep in the fridge.

Serve as a sandwich or slice a tomato into sections and serve a scoop on top of the cut up tomato.

Gluten Free Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies

I recently made something for my most important client (my wife): gluten free peanut butter blossom cookies. They turned out pretty good and got a decided thumbs up.

These are the same as the regular wheat kind, but it's made gluten free.

A full batch of about 4 dozen runs $20. If I have some singles lying around and you want just a few, I'd sell a dozen at $7.
