I’ve always wondered why my mom constantly spoke so highly of me growing up even when I made mistakes. Oh trust me I was a piece of work growing up. She use to always tell me, “ You’re the baby of the family but you are the mature sophisticate one out of the bunch.” I would just shake my head. I never wanted her to say that in front of any of my siblings. I didn’t want anyone to feel a certain way. Apparently she saw more in me than I saw in myself. I truly appreciate how she made living in an apartment growing up feel like a castle to me. She taught me everything from setting the table properly, checking the thread count of bed linen, windows treatment, china dinnerware, color schemes, quality furniture and never to allow your guest to eat or drink out of paper plates and cups (she didn’t buy them). I went through a lot with friends trying to understand me because we came from the same neighborhood and I was different. I was called names like Mrs. Chancellor (the character from the soap opera “The Young and the Restless” RIP), a snob, stuck up or spoiled. I was only being me. So I truly get it now! My mom mold me into the woman I am today! She’s truly missed. So here’s another venture of my life I have to go forward with! The world of interior decorating!!! So much respect and gratitude to my mom (Mrs. Sherrfield Hill) for educating me about this growing up!!! This venture is most definitely a step out on faith and dedication to her💜😉
