We had a customer who wanted the look of traditional flower boxes on her brand-new home, but without drilling into the exterior and potentially affecting her warranty.
So instead of mounting them to the house, we designed a freestanding version with legs that gives her the same beautiful look while keeping the home untouched.
Custom projects like this are some of our favorites because every challenge is an opportunity to create something unique.
What do you think of the finished result?

Something about mixing planter heights just works 👌🌿
We wrapped up this custom set recently, and the different sizes paired together give it such a clean layered look. Whether they’re on a porch, by an entryway, or out on the patio, it’s a simple way to add a little more character to a space without overdoing it.
Safe to say we’re a little obsessed with how these turned out 😍

There’s just something about simple, handmade pieces that make a house feel a little more like home.
These cedar mason jar vase holders have been a fun one to make lately—each one has its own look, whether it’s the distressed white, the soft blue, or that warm brown with a hint of gray. They’re the kind of piece you can drop on a shelf, add a few flowers, and instantly change the feel of a space.
With Mother’s Day coming up, they also make a really thoughtful gift that feels a bit more personal than the usual store-bought stuff.
$20 each, and they come with the mason jar included. We’ve got a limited batch ready to go, so just shoot us a message if you want to grab one.

We might be known for filling yards with cedar planters
but that’s not all we’ve been up to lately 😏
These custom key holders were made as closing gifts for a local Realtor’s clients—one in rich cherry, the other in bold mahogany, both laser engraved and personalized to mark the moment they get the keys to their new home. (Don’t worry
the good stuff is under those “REDACTED” bars 👀)
It’s one of those gifts that actually sticks around—hung up by the door, used every single day—instead of disappearing like another gift card a few months down the road.
If you’re a Realtor looking for a closing gift that feels a little more personal and a lot more memorable, we’ve got you covered.

Shop’s looking a little full right now
and we’re not mad about it 😅
Got a fresh batch of cedar planters wrapping up, while the next round of boards hangs out and gets comfortable in the shop before we start building again.
It’s one of those small steps most people rarely see, but it helps us keep everything looking clean, solid, and built to last 🌿
We’ve been booked solid since the beginning of March, so if you’ve been thinking about adding a planter to your space, now’s the time to reach out. Build times are currently around 3–4 weeks—but they’re worth the wait.

Back for part two 👀
Now that the cedar is prepped, it’s time to start bringing things together. In this step, I’m assembling the legs—but doing it in a way that keeps all the fasteners hidden. No exposed nails, no shortcuts
just a clean look from every angle.
It takes a little more time on the front end, but it makes a big difference in how the finished planter looks.
More to come as we keep building this one out.
If you’ve got a spot in mind for a planter like this, send me a message or drop a comment and we’ll make it happen.

We get asked a lot what goes into building our cedar planters, so we figured
 why not show you?
This is the first video in a little behind-the-scenes series where I walk through how we build each one from start to finish. Today’s step is all about prepping the cedar. Instead of leaving it rough like a lot of builders do, we take the extra time to plane everything down smooth. It not only looks better, but it also gives the planter a cleaner, more finished feel right from the start.
If you’ve ever been curious how these come together, stick around—there’s more coming.
And if you’re already thinking about adding one to your space, shoot us a message or drop a comment and we’ll get you set up.

From the shop to the road 🌿
This custom cedar planter is officially finished up and headed to its new home. There’s nothing better than seeing these pieces go from raw lumber to something that’s ready to be filled with flowers, herbs, or whatever you’ve got in mind.
If you’ve been thinking about adding one to your space, send us a message—we’d love to build something just for you.

What to do when you’ve already drilled 136 pocket holes but your ceilings aren’t high enough to drill the last 12? You could grab your smaller R3, or you can improvise.
