Exciting times at Ohio Valley Barn Salvage.
The Historic Barth Barn , circa late 1830’s and measuring 35’x52’ is “ Sold”
Actually a great story! OVBS purchased the barn on a Friday and sold it the next day to a client looking for an Ohio historic frame on Saturday.
The barn will remain in Ohio.
The undercarriage sells with the frame.
Features are a 16’-20’-16’ bays.
All Timbers are full 12”x12” hand hewn beech.
The basement carriers and under tie beams are an impressive 12”x15”

I forgot to show some photos of Mark Clifton timber framing skills on the Historic Kurtz Stone Barn, Houston Texas.
The engineer of record added heavy timber 8”x8” white oak cross bracing at the grand entrance.
Mark used his talent and skill to carefully knotch the circle sawn timbers into place. These enhancements keep the exposed bent section from being pushed or torn loose from the foundation.
Mark is a very talented timber framer !!!!!!!

Day 4 is a wrap in Houston, Texas!
The OVBS team added a 12’ extension/ rear porch handhewn timber frame to the Historic Kurtz Stone Barn Frame.
We also installed additional enhancements to the frame that were required by local building codes. (They do get a few hurricane force winds every once in a while😎) . We had beautiful weather all week,70’s-80’s
Headed back to chilly Ohio.
A good time was had by all!

The OVBS started on the assembly of the Frame #1 custom handhewn timber frame entrance.
This 12’ deep x32’ wide timber frame is being attached to the rear entrance of the Historic Kurtz Barn Frame.
We furnished original pole rafters to compliment and match the original frame.
It’s how we do !

Moving along on the professional dismantling of the Historic Kern barn frame.
The lumber yard in Cincinnati Ohio is has been in business since the 1860’s
They saw are previous post with there company stamped on the frame.

OVBS is pleased to offer for sale the Historic Kern barn frame;40’x60’, circa late 1880’s
This barn with the bent layout 22’-14’-24’ has a beautiful and rare center bridge truss clear span loft area.
The outside walls measure 19’4” and the peak of the roof is 32’6”.
Species is mixed hardwoods with some hemlock splashed in between.

This barn early 1840’s barn , measuring 50’x110’ is getting a long awaited bath.
