Hoya 'Candy' I got from Ric Moreir last Halloween, I called it my favorite Candy that year. It has taking it's sweet time, it only grows one leaf at a time, and in the past 9 month, I only got 6 leaves out of it. I hope it grows faster soon 😜

This is my Hoya chloroleuca, and it's the first time it bloom. I love the white pedal with the green center, make it so clean and jade looking. I'm Chinese and I love jade.

It finally bloomed! From the first time I saw this Hoya Chloroleuca bloom, I wanted it, I've searched for several month until was finally able to find a good one from in IAS last September in Miami. Anyhow, I heard that it's hard to bloom, I told myself to be patient and was prepared for like 2 years, but today, 9 months later, it bloomed on the first peduncle it produced! The bloom was smaller than I expected but it is so beautiful just what I imagined! Thanks to , I suck at growing thin leaf hoyas so I kept it in the same pot and substrate as I got it for and it's so healthy. Anyway, I was so excited I had to post it before all the other blooms opened, it was a good day, I feel like a checklist got checked off.

What to do with succulents when the weather starts getting warm ☀️

If you notice when the weather stays consistently above 80 degrees, your succulents just don’t look as good anymore… you’re not alone. They lose their colors, turn green, and if it rains too much, sometimes they just melt away.

Here is what I did. I brought all mine into my office. My office stays at a constant 72 degrees with basically ambient to dry humidity, and I added a grow light that’s meant for seedlings. Seedling grow lights are usually much stronger than regular grow lights. I keep the light about 8 inches away from the plants, and they are thriving now.

One thing though, they do get thirsty faster under strong lights and colder temperature. If you pinch the leaf pedals and they feel soft, that usually means they need water.
For watering, I submerge the whole pot in water for a couple minutes, then take it out and let it drain. I also run a fan on them after watering for 12-24 hrs so water doesn’t sit too long between the leaves because they really don’t like that.

Anyway, just some easy summer succulent tips 🌵 Hopefully this helps someone.
