I can’t tell you how excited I am that I did 3 different kinds of persimmon grafts this spring and all 3 took! I just took the tape off so you can see my work. I’ve been doing grafts for a while now but this is my first time doing persimmons. Stay tuned for some of the tips I’ve learned through the years.

My persimmon graft is looking good! I know with pears I need to see about 2 inches of new growth before I can know it will live. I don’t know about persimmons.

I admit, I’ll acquire a new plant knowing I have no place to plant it. Then scour parts of my yard that I know are fully planted as if somehow I will discover some place to plant it I over looked or will magically open up.

One of my Asian pear grafts has full on flowers and maybe start of pears! I pinched them off but I’m taking it that’s a good sign this graft took!
