Our son Zander was born in October 2025, and what should have been the happiest time of our lives quickly became one of the most overwhelming.
During birth, Zander suffered a brachial plexus injury, a broken collarbone, and additional complications. Instead of going home, he spent his first week of life in the ICU, where we watched our newborn fight through pain and uncertainty before he ever had the chance to truly begin his life.
Today, Zander has little to no mobility in his right arm, wrist, and hand. Simple movements many babies do naturally are daily challenges for him. Because of this injury, he has also developed positional plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome) and now requires a corrective helmet to help his head develop properly.
In the coming months, Zander will also need surgery, along with ongoing medical care, therapies, and specialized equipment. The emotional, physical, and financial toll has been heavy, and this injury has truly upended our lives in ways we never expected.
As parents, we have always tried to handle everything on our own and have never been ones to ask for help. But this season has shown us that we cannot do this alone. We need our village — our friends, family, and community — to help us support Zander and give him the best possible chance at healing, strength, and independence.
Any donation, share, or prayer means more than we can put into words. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to hear our boy’s story and for standing with our family during this incredibly difficult journey.
